Refund & Cancellation Policy – Book Haat

This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs all purchases made through Book Haat (Book Haat Books & Stationery). By placing an order on our website, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions stated below.

1. Order Cancellation

1.1 Once an order is successfully placed and payment is completed, cancellation requests will be considered only in case of a genuine and valid reason, subject to verification and approval by Book Haat.

1.2 Cancellation requests must be submitted immediately after placing the order.

1.3 Orders that have been shipped or dispatched from our warehouse cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.

1.4 Book Haat reserves the sole right to approve or reject any cancellation request.

2. Refund Terms

2.1 If a cancellation request is approved before dispatch, the refund will be processed to the original mode of payment.

2.2 In all refund cases, 2.6% of the total transaction amount will be deducted as payment gateway processing charges.

2.3 The balance refund amount (after deduction of applicable charges) will be processed within 5–7 working days, depending on the customer’s bank or payment provider.

2.4 Payment gateway charges are non-refundable as they are levied by third-party financial institutions.

3. Shipping & Return to Origin (RTO) Policy

3.1 Once an order is shipped, cancellation is not permitted.

3.2 If the customer:

  • Fails to answer courier calls,
  • Refuses delivery,
  • Is unavailable at the time of delivery, or
  • Provides an incorrect/incomplete address,

and the shipment is returned to us (RTO – Return to Origin), the customer shall be fully responsible for such return.

3.3 In case of RTO due to customer negligence, no refund will be issued.

3.4 If the customer wishes to receive the order again, fresh shipping charges must be paid in advance before re-dispatch.

4. Non-Refundable Situations

  • After the order has been shipped.
  • Delivery failure due to customer unavailability or refusal.
  • Incorrect shipping details provided by the customer.
  • RTO cases arising from customer-related issues.
